It’s time for the new season to begin. Within the next few weeks all over the country clubs will be inviting athletes to meetings with coaches about the what the club has planned.

Let Rowperfect help you shortcut the hassle with our helpful checklist for rowing club captains.

New Season Checklist – 6 simple actions to help you lead your club to the successes you desire this year.  If your club wants more members send Duncan Holland’s article “What shape is your rowing club” round to the committee – it will help you plan for membership changes.

Rowing athletes – get the best from your sport

There are special things worth investing time and a small amount of money in for your own personal performance improvement.

How did last season go?  Could you improve your performance or do you want to achieve a particular goal?  Read the Rowing Season Review article and set aside some quiet time to appraise your performance, your coaching and the club and crew from last year – you may need to make changes.

How to choose a rowing club – this is critical to helping you find the best club for your needs.  Whether you are a seasoned veteran or in your second season read this first.

Pre-Season Lactate Testing – if you are getting more serious about your training and want to optimise your training zones, we recommend having a test to check your personal levels.  Lactate testing or heart rate step tests are good places to start.

There’s no delicate way to put this. If you’re a regular Rowperfect reader, you’re just . . . well . . . smarter than most people looking to improve their rowing, sculling, coxing or coaching.
