We got a great question from a new rower “What is the best way for a novice

rower to progress quickly?”

The first bit of advice is this

  1. Get professional coaching and tuition.  Find a local coach who can give you one on one sessions and individual feedback.  When starting out face to face coaching is important so you learn the basics correctly.  Later on, you can buy remote rowing coaching from our expert coaching team.
  2. Practice regularly – at least 3 times per week.  If you are very keen, practice daily.
  3. Learn as much as you can about the sport.  Joining the Rowperfect newsletter is a good start.  Also read this blog post which recommends ebooks about how to learn to row and scull

Here is another blog post article we wrote about how to progress quickly which you may find helpful – it covers similar points.
