One of the most prestigious rowing camp venues in the world is on Lake Varese. This lake and small town in northern Italy is known for hosting international rowing regattas. Here’s what you can expect if you come to Varese

Hotels:  In close proximity to the lake are two hotels. Both are very focused on delivering what rowers need. One hotel is more rustic, a 3 Star hotel and is managed by the owners. If you’re on a budget and don’t need luxury, this is your best choice.  Prices are about 60 € per night. Opposite, a minute away,  is a 4 Star hotel. The rooms are a bit better and the food more varied. However, it also has its price. These rooms are 80 € and up per night.

Club / rowing camp in Varese:  3-3 minutes walk from the hotels is the local rowing club. We arrange 4-5 boat racks and also and parking for  our motorboats. Everything is friendly and informal, and very close to the shore. We can also arrange for motor boat and rowing boat hire if you need.

Boats: Rowing camp in Varese.  As a rule, the organisers bring their own singles and doubles. Of course, the local club also rents boats (see above) and you will be paying their rental fees direct.. With a larger group size you may want to bring your own boats.

Coaches for rowing camps in Varese.  Varese has a large number of international, renowned rowers who live locally. For your individual coaching we can arrange one-on-one coaching and we also carry out group coaching. The local coaches speak both Italian and English and a few also speak German. Weather during a rowing camp in Varese.  Varese is located in northern Italy, about 45 minutes from Milan. In summer, the weather is sunny and hot. In spring and autumn, daytime temperatures always reach 10-15 degrees. But it may also rain. But we use the Wigglefish drybags, to keep our kit dry in the boat. So bring your waterproof rowing anorak.

A rowing camp in Varese is great fun. The team is highly professional and oriented towards giving you an excellent teaching and learning environment. Come to Varese as a ‘speed camp’ to practice racing fast for 1k short distance regattas. The food and drink locally is excellent and cheap. And there is a lot to see in the city of Milan, but you’ll need a car for that. There is also a rowing shop nearby that sells clothing and accessories.
