Australia dominated the medals at the Amsterdam World Rowing Championships last week – their team of 5 athletes took home two golds and a silver medal. Quite a haul!
Gavin Bellis is their champion sculler and we spoke to his coach, Gordon Marcks.
He told us that Gavin uses Magik Oarlocks in the TA double scull – see the photo opposite from his website.
Magik aids teaching sculling
We have always found the Magik gates work well for teaching novices because they feel a greater ‘certainty’ at the catch and so learn the feathering action faster.
And for racing crews, the first few strokes of the start are much improved with Magik.
Test them for yourself for a fortnight – contact our office for a trial pair (sweep or sculling).
