Jim Flood author of “How to Balance a Boat”

Jim Flood is a coach at Reading RC and led the 2007 Rowperfect seminar ; he delivers FISA‘s international coaching programme for developing nations and is recently returned from Argentinia.

Jim writes and thinks a lot about rowing.  He has kindly sent us an article that he wrote about balance that shows very clearly how his thought process works.

It includes a mind-map of the process of balancing a boat – which is worth printing out for your club noticeboard.

There’s no delicate way to put this. If you’re a regular Rowperfect reader, you’re just . . . well . . . smarter than most people looking to improve their rowing, sculling, coxing or coaching.
