This weekend there will be over 300 rowers competing on Lake Ruataniwha , South Island, New Zealand. Nothing special about that? In late March there were 1500 children there for the 2010 Maadi Cup .
But this is different. This weekend the snow is low on the mountains, temperatures will be low and the ages of the competitors will be high. The South Island Masters regatta is on and the three hundreds competitors are all somewhat older than they used to be.
Your intrepid reporter will be there, (But not racing!) and will bring you the all the news.
