Kanghua is a new breed of racing boat, offering elite-level performance at a club-level price, and is happy to be a partner of the Leander Academy.
In the hands of Leander Academy athletes, Kanghua has enjoyed wins at Marlow International, Home Countries and British Champs, as well as medals at the National Schools Regatta and a semi-final at Henley Royal Regatta. And the recent National Schools Regatta, Henley Rowing Club and Putney High School bagged four wins between them in Kanghua 4s.
Rowing boat designs
Available in four ranges, Kanghua boats are based on the popular hull shapes widely used in top-class competition and the aerospace-grade honeycomb core used in all bar our entry-level range provides stiffness and excellent resistance to impacts and water ingress.
KX and Spirit Ranges
The KX and Spirit ranges use all-carbon laminate for light weight and increased stiffness, and are equipped with riggers manufactured in the UK by ES Rowing Services.
Phantom Range
The Phantoms make excellent club boats, featuring a carbon and glass fabric outer skin, while remaining lightweight and strong. Identical in external construction, the Shadow range swaps honeycomb for a core mat core, reducing the price to offer unbeatable value.
Entry-level Range
The entry range boats offer particularly good value, featuring the same Aerospace grade honeycomb core with a carbon and glass fabric outer skin. Lightweight and strong,

Eric Sims is behind Kanghua
Kanghua boats have been developed using the latest materials and techniques, and are constantly refined by Eric Sims, formerly of Eton Racing Boats. Eric, owner of ES Rowing Services, has worked as a consultant for Kanghua since early 2013, making frequent visits to the factory to ensure that the brand’s high standards are maintained. Eric has considerable experience of elite-level rowing, having represented GB for many years.
All new Kanghua boats sold in the UK are covered by a five-year warranty and are fully supported by ES Rowing Services, who can provide repairs as well as replacement parts, riggers and fittings.
