Funny rowing media mix ups

It’s too easy to make a mistake – but sometimes they bring a smile to our faces.  The British Association of Rowing Journalists has a humorous award each year called the HammerSmith Award – for someone or an organisation that has ‘brought a smile‘ to the faces of BARJ.

The Irish Rowing Federation announced its new coach, Don McLachlan.  Congratulations, Don.

The Sports News Ireland and Olympic Council of Ireland looked online for a photo of him and found our image from the World Champs at Karapiro.

Unwittingly, they took it and cropped out their man, leaving a smiling Grant Craies to go with their announcement!

Update: Check out the G+ post and comments from international rowing friends of ours.

[AMENDED: 07/03 Rowing Ireland had nothing to do with the error – they wrote to us “Please note that the specific media announcements which you refer to in your article titled “Funny rowing media mix up”  were published by “Sports News Ireland” and the “Olympic Council of Ireland”. It is incorrect of you to state that Rowing Ireland has used an image of Grant Craies in our announcement, as we are not in any way associated with either media source.“]
