We have an RP Classic and are located in Western Australia, can we buy a replacement bar or is there a cheap way to avoid shipping metal around the world?

The full spare parts list for the RP Classic is here.

Box Section stainless steel 3mm is what you buy for the bar.  You’ll need 2 meters (or more). It gets sold wholesale in 6 meter lengths so if you have tall athletes go to 2.3 meters but you will only get 2 bars out of one length.

The bend is 50cm from the BACK leg with the bend down from the upper side.

Get a metal working shop to do the bend for you.  The depression can be copied off your existing bar.

The ends get drilled for the bolts to fit your RP legs.

WARNING if your RP was a very early one, the legs were designed for 2mm bar thickness and you may have to also sand down the leg insert so it goes into the smaller internal diameter 3mm thickness bar.

There’s no delicate way to put this. If you’re a regular Rowperfect reader, you’re just . . . well . . . smarter than most people looking to improve their rowing, sculling, coxing or coaching.
