Mike Davenport sets out in detail exactly how you can work out for yourself whether rowing coaching is the right career for you.  Mike also writes e books which are for sale in the Rowperfect shop.

I am working on a path to be a paid professional rowing coach. I have my UKCC level 2, and a PGCE. I am just commencing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching leading to a Masters Degree.
I am currently coaching in two clubs – one is at a university, coaching beginners and developing training programs, which i have proved to be successful.
the other is a town club, a very different set up, but i am in the process of attempting to set up same, but with senior rowers, to develop men’s squad, developing the training plan and coaching sessions, and threatening with good Heads and regattas that they have never done, eg multi-lane. Exciting times.
Interesting to have spent a while at the club as it was easy to see what is being done and what could be done.
Perhaps one day i shall be a rowing consultant/advisor.
I cannot think of a better way to spend the days
