My main area of expertise is in improving the physiology of rowers.

I have a solid base of theoretical knowledge from my university studies in exercise physiology in addition to practical experience in designing and implementing successful training programmes. In addition to designing programmes aiming to improve the aerobic fitness of rowers, I also give them advice on strength and conditioning and nutrition.

English and Finnish are my strongest languages, but I can also offer advice in French if required.

I take a holistic approach in my programmes, and seek to prepare my athletes for competition both in terms of their physiological capacity (aerobic and anaerobic capacity), as well as through biomechanical efficiency (ability to transfer power through the core, to achieve optimal stroke range through effective body posture, and balance work).

  • 3 month training programme 10 units
  • 6 month training programme 18 units
  • 1 year training programme 30 units

All training programmes include both strength and conditioning and rowing/ergo training.

  • Strength and conditioning training programme (to be implemented for approx.. 3-6 months) 3 units.
  • Nutrition advice for 1 month(comments on food diary, and further advice) 5 units.

Coaching track record

I have rowed for 4 years, competing both in the UK and in Finland. In Finland I have won several medals at the national championships. Currently I am aiming to become an international standard rower. I have competed in both sweep and sculling, and in all boat categories from a single and a pair up to quads and eights. Currently I am competing in the lightweight category.
