Rowing Tales – call for submissions

Rowperfect wants to share your rowing stories in a book

Everyone has a rowing story to tell.  I was inspired by My Old Man, a compilation book of stories about Fathers to create Rowperfect’s latest project, Rowing Tales.

We will publish a book of rowing stories – short, long, triumph or disaster, from beginners to Olympians.

The book will have illustrations, photos and audio or video because we plan to publish it electronically and also in print format.  We will use URL hyperlinks to enable MP3 recordings and videos to be shared.

Would you like to join the Rowing Tales Project?

Could be 50 words, could be 500 words. we’ll consider poems, photos with a caption, a nice line drawing. Anything that moves all of our minds on a notch.

Send over your story

Last weekend I wore my nikewatch rowing. It was too bulky so I took it off and put it next to my water bottle then forgot it so when we lifted the boat out f the water and up to heads it dropped in the river! I’m a runner and a rower so am looking for something to show distance and rate for both sports with a heart monitor combined. Any ideas?

Oh, Kate. What a disaster….. poor you. The CoxmateGPS has a heart rate (ANT receiver chest strap needed) and on it are a range of apps…. the Coxmate app obviously does all the rowing data points you’d want….. and it has a bunch of others including one for cycling and mapping your route.
It is a bit bulkier than a watch but you could pop it onto an arm band and wear it while running.

Thanks for another magnificent post. Where else may just anybody get that kind of info in such a perfect manner of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m at the look for such information. kggggfcakaag
