Rowing Coaching Seniors – expertise needed

Advertisements

Hello – My name is Coach Tara Morgan from Seattle WA.  Seize The Oar is a rowing club that promotes sustainable inclusive strategies for rowers of all ages and abilities. We started as a competitive club for rowers needing adapted equipment and have expanded our work to senior masters.

In 2015, while lamenting the challenges of rowers with knee and hip replacements with fellow coaches, we started the Rowing & Aging Project to research and develop encouraging inclusive strategies for boathouses and coaches to keep rowers on the water longer. We’ve hosted a video podcast on the recreational side of things and focused on inclusiveness. We’ve heard from over 100 rowers from all over the world (meet them on our Instagram @SeizeTheOar) and now we’re looking for input on coaching competitive and recreational senior rowers (60 and up).

The Project will now culminate in an e-handbook for coaches and boathouses on training, troubleshooting and equipping your programs for rowers over 60. We will also be hosting a podcast round table with coaches like you on RowPerfectUK.
Please share your expertise by filling out the easy survey linked below. And please forward the link below to any and all senior masters coaches in your community/networks The more we can share, the better we can serve this challenging and increasing population all over the world!

Here’s the link to a survey so we can get started :
Thanks so much,
Coach Tara
