The team at Rowtex who brought you their Rowtex gloves have been working on a new product… it’s an Anorak for rowing and it’s available for sale now in the Rowperfect shop.

They launched a crowdfunding campaign to get early customers and to pay for the product development. Rowperfect was pleased to support them with this and was delighted when it over-achieved its targets.  Rowperfect readers now have the opportunity to test it out – read down to the bottom.

What is the ideal Rowing Anorak?

In order to find the best materials, best fit and features an ideal rowing anorak should have, the Rowtex team have been collaborating closely with elite rowers.  Tobias from Rowtex explained:

Once the final prototype was finished, we showed it to the rowing community and they loved it! The anorak became a great crowdfunding success. We are very proud of the first ROWTEX garment.

The goal for the anorak is to meet all the needs rowers have: perfect (slim) fit, functionality, durability, high quality and good design.

The rowing anorak is a unique piece of unisex clothing made for rough weather and the colder rowing season. It is wind-proof and waterproof yet highly breathable and can be packed down to a small volume into its own chest pocket. Wear it as a light top-layer with a little space underneath for you to wear a slim mid-layer shirt (sweatshirt, vest). For heavy rain, a hood stored in the collar can be quickly unpacked. It has a silicone strip on the inside of the bottom seam to keep the anorak from riding up. For extra ventilation, it can be opened with a double-zipper on the side.

The anorak comes in a dark petrol (blue) colour with red/green design elements on the sleeve cuffs and a reflective ROWTEX logo on the shoulder.
