At the end of eight days of racing at Eton Dorney the London 2012 Olympic Rowing came to a close with Great Britain topping the medal table.
GB won the most medals in its history, with 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze. The team had its most successful Olympic Regatta since 1908, when they totalled 4 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze. On the final day of racing the GB Men’s Coxless Four upheld coach Jurgen Grobler’s Olympic record of 20 years, winning gold with a GB men’s crew at every Olympics since Barcelona 1992.
New Zealand’s domination of men’s heavyweight small boat events took them to second in the medal table; 3 Gold, 2 Bronze.
Germany finished third; 2 Gold, 1 Silver.
