What colour rowing boat would you choose?

Advertisements

I am about to launch a new rowing boat and we are trying to decide what colours to make available as options.

So I thought I’d ask you Rowperfect readers, as nothing has yet been set in stone.

White will always be a no cost option. But then we intend to offer a few standard colours for a reasonable price and this is where you come in. What colour would you like to have a new boat made in?

The deck will be white and a contrasting hull colour looks very smart.

We know that many customers opt for dark colours but there is something you should bear in mind if that’s what you’d choose.

If you scratch or scuff a dark hull then the white resin underneath the surface gel coat (which contains the colour) will show through. So you would be more likely to wish to repair every minor scratch. Slightly annoying.

Obviously a white hull does not present this problem to the owner and slight damage will often pass unnoticed.

Pale colours are in between, in terms of practicality.

Nevertheless, I know that despite receiving this advice, customers are not put off ordering dark colours and we are perfectly willing to provide them if this is what people want.

>Wikipedia has a great list of the available colours.

So what would you choose?

Have a look at the list and note down the RAL NUMBER then click here and select that number in this form and submit it please.

Of course, you can change your mind if you decide to buy one of these new boats later. I’m just looking for an indication of people’s preferences.

So to summarise:

  • white will be at no additional cost,
  • the most popular colours will become our standard options and
  • any other colour will still be available but at a higher cost than the standard options.

I cannot tell you anything more about the new boat just yet except that it is a lovely boat to row, I really like it and we will be making it available in Europe next month and then worldwide.

Thanks for your help with this Rebecca. I’ll be back in touch soon.

Cheers,

Stephen Walker
