Brian Colgan recommends “Small Puddles” book

So I saw the Rowperfect interviews about Zig last month, and based on that I read his book. Wow Zig was quite the character, I am very sorry I never got the chance to know him.

I really got a kick out of the winter training workouts – really -well not fond really- but VIVID is a good word – memories of my own winter training at Penn. Gamut ergs – UGHHH!

I think for actual people who row, this is a much better book than The Boys In The Boat, because his experiences and lessons taken away were more typical than Olympic gold to say the least.

I am recommending it to all my high school kids that I coach, glad to help his charity.

Brian Colgan coaches juniors at Treasure Coast Rowing Club.
