Australian club Mens 2x

Nick Garrett of Mosman RC, Australia coached this double for their national championships two years ago.  Nick has pedigree as a national team coach and one of the athletes has rowed for Australia.  Their technique is great and the boat has a huge surge during the power phase.

You can be picky and say the stroke doesn’t feather into his fingers and during the pause paddling drill uses his body weight to balance the boat.  But they look like a speedy crew who are really well drilled.  Congratulations Nick.

Enjoy some great sculling.

    Hi Rebecca,
A couple of comments/corrections about the double scull
Both the stroke Dan Noonan, and bow Chris Morgan were in the Aus quad in Beijing which finished 4th, after having set the world fastest time of 5.36 in the semi

In 2009 Dan stroked the Aus quad to a silver medal at the World Championships in Poznan, while Chris had the international season off

In 2010, Dan again stroked the quad -this time to a bronze medal in NZ while Chris won gold in the coxed pair.

Dan rows here at Mosman Rowing Club in Sydney, while Chris usually rows out of Adelaide

Nick, I appreciate your giving us more information about these guys. They row beautifully! Can you give us more insight into how you coached the technique to meld their individual styles in this crew?
