Rowperfect UK sells rowing and sculling equipment into the UK market. We select the products for their technical superiority and their ability to help athletes and coaches improve skills and make faster racing boats. Rowperfect represents four major products: Coxmate, Dreher oars and sculls, Magik oarlocks and Rowperfect.

Rowperfect UK is supports improved technical excellence in rowing, sculling and coaching for clubs, athletes and coaches. Each year we host a seminar for the purpose of coach education. Past speakers have included Harry Mahon , Martin McElroy, Paul Thompson , Rosie Mayglothling , and in 2006, Duncan Holland . The seminar slides are published after each event.

Our principal products

Coxmate is an amplification communications system for coxed boats. It uses modern electronic engineering and materials to enable clearer and louder communication through small speakers throughout the boat. Its superior battery life allows for 15 hours of use before re-charging; magnetic connectors for the cox box help prevent wires getting damaged and having four speakers in an 8 allows even sound distribution. Coxmate's latest product is its GPS speed / distance measurement plug-in for the SCT.

Dreher oars and sculls are made in the US by experts in carbon fibre technology. Dreher has a reputation for innovation. Jim Dreher has been designing new oar and spoon shapes since 1990 when, as a coach for the US team at the World Rowing Championships in Australia, he invented the adjustable length shaft thus enabling fewer oars to be transported. The Dreher range accommodates everyone from junior to recreational and Olympic athlete. The modular system allows clubs to repair damage cheaply. Dreher sculls are favoured by technically skilled athletes who have proven improved boat speeds using Drehers.

Magik has developed a new oarlock that holds the oar more firmly against the rigger pin thus reducing inefficiencies and enabling more energy to be transferred into moving the boat. The lever arm mechanism is controlled by an elastic tension band that can be adjusted for stiffness. World champions have used the MK1 oarlock since 2005 and three countries use it exclusively for their national crews. Coaches have noticed that novices and beginners learn the ‘square and feather’ action faster using MK1 over conventional oarlocks.

Rowperfect is an indoor rowing machine that simulates the rowing and sculling action. This enables athletes to learn faster and to train muscles to make the correct sequence of movement with increased skill and power in exactly the same way as in a boat. The power curve readout allows coaches to align the power delivery from each athlete to a common shape which delivers greater efficiencies and hence improved boat speed. Split timings are adjusted to athlete weight and boat class so that land and water times can be directly compared. It is the perfect sport-specific land training and testing tool.
