News in this morning from Mark Campbell the Rowperfect manufacturer…..

At some stage over the past few months you have enquired about the development of the new Rowperfect - thankyou for your patience to date, the development process has been somewhat longer than originally planned but we hope the result justifies the extra care and attention to detail. We have just uploaded a video of the latest prototype to the YouTube site. To view, simply click on the link below and you can view a 2 minute video comparing the original Rowperfect and that prototype.

The machine in the video is actually the third prototype, and as you can see there have been some revolutionary changes. With only two or three minor refinements, the machine you see will be the production version. We plan to complete testing of the new Rowperfect within one month
Any feedback is welcome.

Regards,

Mark

Cambridge men clean sweep with MK1 gates

Monday, April 9th, 2007

The Boat Race weekend is over but Cambridge, winners of both the Blue Boat and Goldie/Isis races, used MK1 gates.

I spent the day with the two photographers from NLRoei who have put up a great photo of the winning crew and coach, Duncan Holland……

Why consider buying Coxmate for your cox box amplification?

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Some views….

Jonty Faulkner of Exeter University Boat Club - owner of two SRT Coxmates

I have been looking around for a while for new coxing equipment.  The NKs are outrageously expensive for what they are.  And we have had bad luck with the Row Data ones in the past.   We are thinking 'why not' try the Coxmate?  Everything looks good about it including the price.

Peter Cawston of Edinburgh University Boat Club - owner of SCT Coxmate and impeller for 8+

I coach at Edinburgh Uni, though this would be a personal purchase as they can't afford one (and I am kidding myself that I can).   I found out about Coxmate because I was scouring the web for a device that would measure check (or min/max velocity in your case).

Christopher Shawcross of Phyllis Court Boat Club - owner of AA Coxmate which they sent back for repair and a quick (half-day) turn-round before a regatta.  We posted it back and it arrived on the morning of the regatta by special delivery.

It arrived on time, yes thank you - it was all they talked about all day!

Cambridge used our pumps in the HORR

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

As discussed at length on the rowing news sites RSR , Talk Rowing,

Yes, CUBC did use pumps for the Head of the River Race and thus avoided sinking like others….

We supplied them.  Rechargable batteries.  Three pumps for the 8.  Emptied a bucket of water from a foot-well in under 20 seconds.

Grant Craies fitted them for CUBC and if you look carefully you can see three hoses coming out of this photo.

Rowperfect Seminar Slides

Jim Flood did a fantastic job challenging us with new coaching concepts and driving discussion about situations that arise while coaching.

Participant-focused coaching is the new buzz-word but it's more than that - a set of parameters that enable coaching to deliver the best learning environment and to get the best results

The slides are published in "note" form so that Jim's references and aides memoir can be read below each slide.
